Detection And Prevention

At Premier Health, we combine powerful tools, technologies, and expertise to diagnose your orthopedic condition and find the most appropriate treatment for you. Our screening exams and education help you understand your risks.

We also know that genetic links, risk factors such as diabetes and heart disease, and lifestyle choices — such as smoking, diet, and exercise — may all play a role in the condition of your bones and joints.

No matter the cause of your condition, we use the resources of our orthopedics team to identify your issue and manage your care.

Osteoporosis Screening

Osteoporosis is a disorder that leads to thin and weakened bones, making them more likely to fracture. Because there are usually no symptoms until a bone is broken, osteoporosis is often called a “silent” disease. Osteoporosis can be prevented or its progression delayed, and it can be treated.

If you’re at risk for osteoporosis, your doctor may order a bone density (DEXA) scan. Results of a DEXA scan may show that you need treatment for osteoporosis. Early detection and treatment of osteoporosis can slow bone loss and increase bone thickness to help prevent broken bones in the hip, spine, and wrist.

Schedule your bone density (DEXA) scan now.
